This is a non-comprehensive list of classes - music, dance, swim, art, etc. - for infants and toddlers held around the city. I will add to this list as I research and discover more! If you have tips please email me.
Music Classes
Mister Mike’s Music (H Street)
Description: At Music Together® we strive to give families the opportunities to form a music-making habit early. This is not a class strictly for babies and toddlers. This is a music class where families sing together.
Cost: $275 for the first registered child, $245 for siblings older than 9 months. Siblings under 9 months attend for free. 10 classes per program.
The Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center (EDCJCC) (Dupont)
Various class packages available with multiple teachers: Ms. Michelle, Mr. Ari, Tunes for Tots, Musical Infants
Cost: Between $150-$280 per session (Fall or Winter or Spring) depending on the class; JCC members pay a lesser amount
Tunes 4 Tots (locations vary)
Description: Currently held at Whitehaven Park in Glover Park
Cost: $25 per class
Miss Amy’s Music Makers (Lanier Heights/Columbia Heights)
Description: Classes available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Cost: $315 for 10 classes indoor session
Gymboree: Family Music (Cleveland Park)
Description: Learn musical techniques, styles, and about different instruments, while supporting social and emotional development. Classes range from infants as young as 6 months to preschoolers!
Cost: Packages vary
Little Steps Music: Music Together
Description: Music Together is an early childhood music and movement program. Developed in Princeton over twenty-five years ago, it has grown to become one of the leading childhood education programs in this country and abroad.” Registration required
Music Time with Mr. Gabe(Various Locations)
Description: Classes feature movement, finger play, and traditional and modern children’s songs, as well as an introduction to simple rhythm instruments.
Cost: $225 for 10 classes
Music Together City Sing and Play (Southwest)
Location: Southwest Waterfront

Art Classes
Red Panda Art (Friendship Heights).
Description: Various classes including Art and Music, Art Explorations. Art and Movement.
Cost: varies
Art for Tots at the EDCJCC (Dupont)
Description: Explore art with your toddler! In this interactive class, your child will learn about colors, shapes, and textures through activities including finger- and brush-painting, collage, print-making, and drawing.
Cost: Cost: Between $180-$240 per session (Fall or Winter or Spring) depending on the class; JCC members pay a lesser amount
Sports and Dance Classes
Gymboree Play & Music (Woodley Park)
Cost: First class/"Preview Session Pass" costs $15. Must purchase a class package for subsequent visits
Little Gym (Capitol Hill)
Also close by: Bethesda Little Gym
Cost: First class free. Must purchase a class package for subsequent visits
Salsa with Silvia (Park View)
Description: Students will learn a lot about rhythm, coordination, musicality, balance, discipline, following directions, working with a team, being elegant, graceful, being confident, learn how to express yourself, learn etiquette and a lot more in addition to building foundation in dance.
Classes for babies as young as 10 months, toddlers, preschoolers

Super Soccer Stars (Various locations)
Description: A popular children’s soccer program for ages 1 to 12+. Our goal is to help children improve their gross motor and soccer skills. Our coaches create a fun, non-competitive, and educational environment to ensure children develop self-confidence and physical literacy in every class.

Swim Group Classes
DC Parks and Recreation (Various locations)
Description: Classes for children as young as . Classes include Learn to Swim for Children, Learn to Swim: The Basics, and Mommy & Me Water Aerobics

Cost: $24-$40 per session (depending on class) for residents of DC
Free swim: DPR Aquatic Facilities and Programs are free to all D.C. residents and can be accessed by non-residents who obtain an aquatics pass.
Brookland Swim Academy (Brookland, Trinity Washington University)
Description: Most classes are on the weekend, the only class offered for 3-5 year olds is Weekday Guppies 1.
Cost: $200 for three (3) one-hour sessions with a class maximum ratio of 1:4
SafeSplash (Columbia Heights, Washington Sports Club)
Description: SafeSplash’s infant and toddler swim classes are designed for kids ages 4 months to 3 years old. In our ParentTot classes you’ll be in the pool with your kiddo to support, soothe and cheer them on the entire time. When your child is ready for some independence (ages 2 years and up), our Toddler Transition class offers a supportive learn to swim experience with our attentive instructors, while parents watch poolside or from our lobby viewing area.

Old City Swim School (NoMa, MSSD Pool on the Gallaudet Campus)
Description: Learn-to-Swim classes for ages 3-16 y/o are Monday-Thursday 5:30pm– 7pm

We Aquatics (Various locations)
Description: Choose from three classes: Infant Swimming Resource (survival swim), Learn to Swim and our Young Masters Swim Team.

Outdoor Classes
All Together Outdoors (Takoma Park)
Description: Led by Lu (they/them), who offers inclusive outdoor play classes to young kids and their caregivers in Silver Spring, MD. Classes meet weekly for purposeful play, songs, movement, and nature explorations.
Cost: $200 for 9 weeks (early bird rate). Sibling discounts and sliding scale pricing are available
