Free and low-cost scheduled activities for babies and toddlers this week in DC


Program updates:


MONDAY (November 10)


TUESDAY (November 11) Veterans Day

  • 10:30am: Kidsinger Jim Puppet Show at Eastern Market ($10 in advance, $12 at the door)

  • 10:30am - 11:00am: Petworth Library Toddler Story Time

  • 10:30am - 11:30am: Southwest Library Toddler Play Time

  • Veterans Day ceremonies (all free)

    • Arlington National Cemetery: Memorial Amphitheater is open to all, with performances by military bands and remarks by public officials. Programming begins at 11:00am. The parking lot opens at 8:00am

    • Korean War Veterans Memorial: Wreath laying and recognition of veterans, beginning at 3:00pm. Registration is requested through koreanwarvetsmemorial.org

    • U.S. Navy Memorial: Wreath laying, featuring a ceremonial guard and the U.S. Navy Band. The event begins at 1:00pm

    • Vietnam Veterans Memorial: Ceremony at 1:00pm. An RSVP is requested through vvmf.org

    • World War I Memorial: Bells of Peace remembrance ceremony in Pershing Park, which also features music by the American Expeditionary Forces Band Brass Quintet; a wreath laying; and bugle performances of “Aux Morts,” “The Last Post” and taps. The music begins at 10:45am with the ceremony at 11:00am

    • World War II Memorial: Laying wreaths at the memorial’s Freedom Wall at 10:00am. Registration is requested through wwiimemorialfriends.org
